A story of what could have been... It was all-change at the top of the world rankings yet again, as Justin Rose reclaimed the number one spot after winning the Turkish Airlines Open. The Englishman beat China’s Li Haotong in a playoff after both players finished on 17-under-par.
For Li, it was certainly a story of what could have been after a series of near-misses down the final stretch. To compound his misery further, Li had a makeable putt on the first playoff hole to claim victory, only to race his first attempt a few feet past before failing to hole the one coming back. A three-putt for Li and a second consecutive Turkish Airlines Open victory for Rose, securing his place back at the summit of the world rankings. |
