Captains Drive In

The Captains’ Drive in is this Saturday, 9th March. There is a competition which will be a team event and shotgun start at 10am.

Please come along and support the new club captain, Ian Bealey.

Competition results

Saturday was the Monthly Stableford Competition. There were a total of 58 entries, a great turnout for the beginning of March.

There was a total of 17 two’s, each paying £5.12.

The Daily Mail Cup

Clive Woodley and Philip Smith took on a pair from Yelverton in the first round. Clive and Phil won the match on the last 2 up thanks to tap in birdie on the 18th, I wish them good luck in the next round.

Dartmoor League 2019

From the 2019 season Elfordleigh has joined the Dartmoor League and will start in Division 3. The other teams in this Division are Bigbury, Bovey Castle and Yelverton.

This is an opportunity to represent Elfordleigh in competitive golf matches, albeit the intention of the Dartmoor League is that matches are played in a friendly competitive spirit. We are therefore looking for all those interested in taking part to sign up on the club notice board as an expression of interest.
The format is 5 better ball matches over 18 holes.

Teams will consist of ten players with handicaps ranging from 6 – 18. Noting that higher handicap players are eligible but will play off a maximum of 18.

All players must have an active handicap and be a member of the club.

Each match is either preceded or followed by a meal and all players will be expected to attend. Players will pay a contribution of up to £12 towards the cost of the meal; cost varies dependent on course being played.

The fixtures are:

• Saturday 18/5/19 Bigbury – Home
• Sunday 09/6/19 Bovey Castle - Home
• Sunday 16/6/19 Bovey Castle – Away
• Sunday 21/7/19 Yelverton – Home
• Sunday 11/8/19 Yelverton - Away
• Saturday 07/9/19 Bigbury – Away
