Firstly, we’ve now been back playing for three weeks, so hopefully your swing has returned and your scores are improving. The course is in fantastic condition and Will and his team are doing a great job for us. It has been widely circulated that we can now play in larger groups, due to the easing of the Social Distancing requirements laid down by the Government. This is great news and will provide greater availability of tee times. Please continue to follow the Hotel's guidance on tee booking and Social Distancing requirements. Predominantly tee times are booked directly on BRS, which you are all encouraged to use. However, different members have different requirements for Social Distancing, so please do not join a tee time on BRS without first getting the consent of those already registered to play, if you do not have their contact details the Pro Shop can assist. From the 1st of June will see the return of competitive golf, with a number of Pro Shop competitions to support Simon and his Team. The exact formats and dates will be organised and published by Simon, so please show your support and join in. As a Committee, we discussed the return of Roll Ups. Our decision, in agreement with the hotel, is that Virtual Roll Ups will be allowed from the 1st of June. The requirements are as follows: · Tee booking protocol as laid down by the Hotel · Social Distancing requirements as laid down by the Hotel · No cash transactions · Registering to play, submission of scores, declaring results and organising prizes will be the responsibility of the Roll Up Organiser. We will review the position on Roll Ups after the next Government announcement on Social Distancing. During June we will be working with Simon to put together a diary of Club Competitions for July. Our intention is for some of these to be Handicap Qualifiers. In addition, in July we will reintroduce the opportunity to submit supplementary scores for Handicap. When we do, we'll also publish a reminder of the process. All of the above is predicated on the basis that there is no reversal of the Government's Covid 19 lockdown regulations. As and when these change, hopefully getting back to normal, our Secretary, in collaboration with the Hotel Management, will make the appropriate changes to the Elfordleigh Social Distancing requirements and ensure they are circulated to all members via the various electronic media. For July onwards we will publish Club Competitions as soon as they are agreed with the Hotel. This will enable you to book your tee time on BRS. Please note that for Club Competitions the tee will open to all members and spare slots can be filled without prior notification of those already playing. Finally, on behalf of the Committee, thank you for your support us during this challenging period and complying with the Social Distancing requirements. We will inform you of as things change. Play Safe and Stay Safe. Thank you , Don Metters Chairman
