We know our new members are eager to get their handicap. The Committee and myself have reassessed the situation and are pleased to inform you that you can now submit three cards in order to get a handicap. The score cards must be marked by a member, who already has a handicap. Players must adhere to the Club’s guidelines with regards to social distancing & health & safety. Local Rule – Preferred Lies in Bunkers When a player’s ball lies in part of a bunker the player may take free relief once by placing the original ball or another ball in and playing it from this relief area: • Reference Point: Spot of original ball • Size of Relief Area Measured from Reference Point: 6 inches from the reference point, but with these limits: o Limits on Location of Relief Area: - must not be nearer the hole than the reference point - must be in the bunker - the area must not be smoothed before placing. Local Rule - Flag stick Players MUST NOT deliberately touch or remove the flag stick at anytime. If a flag stick is not correctly centered it may be moved into place by some means other than by touching with the hand, for example, using a putter head or elbow. Local Rule – Ball Holed A player’s ball is considered ‘holed’ when any part of the ball is below the surface of the putting green, even if not lodged against the flag stick. Use the hook on the flag stick to remove the ball. If you already have a handicap from a previous club please provide us with your CDH number and we can transfer this to Elfordleigh. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us in the Pro Shop. Kind Regards, Simon and the Pro Shop Team
