Reminders...

Please do not go out onto the course earlier than the tee sheet allows you to book. The tee sheet currently opens from 7am, which allows the greenkeepers to get on with their course maintenance without being held up.

Also, there are still lots of pitch marks being left unrepaired on the greens. Please remember to always carry a pitchfork repairer and repair any pitch marks that you see. This will help to maintain our great putting surfaces that the greenkeepers work so hard to achieve.

If the Pro Shop is closed when you tee off, there are scorecards at the hotel reception desk. If you are returning a buggy key or trolley when the Pro Shop is closed, please drop it to the hotel reception.

What's coming up?

This Saturday, 18 July, we are holding a charity day for the Shekinah Charity. Shekinah is a local charity that helps people recover from homelessness, drug and alcohol issues, offending behaviours or mental ill-health in the Plymouth area.

The entry fee is £5 including twos and the format is an 18-hole Stableford from the yellow tees with prizes for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, best front nine score and best back nine score. To enter, you must book a tee time and then pay in the Pro Shop when you arrive.

It would be great to see everyone support the day and raise as much money as possible for the Shekinah charity.

Being a single-figure golfer, there's a good chance that at least one club in your bag has been fitted to suit your swing. We're big advocates of custom fitting when it comes to purchasing new clubs and would encourage you to go through the process again if you're considering an upgrade to your set.

Changes over time

Whilst many of you have been custom fitted before, your specs are likely to alter over time as your swing changes.

This is the best bit about the fitting experience - trying out the latest products from multiple brand until you find the one you prefer.

A recent survey highlighted that nearly a quarter of golfers who haven’t been custom fitted before believe that they are not good enough to go through the fitting process. We're incredibly passionate about finding the best clubs for your game - no matter your golfing ability or experience - and an enjoyable fitting experience is the most effective way to do this and help you improve as a golfer.

Consistency is key

It’s nice to be able to hit the ball further and more accurately, and a custom fitting will help with that, but the main thing is to be more consistent so that your bad shots are few and far between.

Testing different clubs

This is the most enjoyable part for any golfer - trying out the latest equipment from different brands. It's not just about what performs best, but also about what you prefer in both looks and feel.

Once we have a club that you particularly like, we'll look at the finer details with you so it's perfectly set-up for your game. We appreciate it's a big purchase, so we want to ensure you walk away happy.

Making life easier off the tee

The average golfer will use their driver between 10-13 times per round. That means between 50-75% of holes are relying on that one club for a good start. But how do you ensure you get that good start?

Finding the right driver

First things first, if you want to find the fairway with more regularity then you need to feel comfortable with your driver. This game is made so much easier when we're confident in playing the shot at hand.
