Competition news

All for a good cause...

Well done to everyone for supporting the Brain Tumour Support Charity Day last weekend which was hugely successful and an amazing total of £3,835.00 was raised for the Charity.

Next Saturday 29th August there is a Covid Cup four-ball better ball competition. To play in this you must find a four-ball to play in, but if you want to play and can’t find a playing partner, please let us know in the Pro Shop and we will do our best to find you some playing partners.

This Tuesday we had a Cobra fitting day! It was a great day and I know those that came really enjoyed their fitting experience, learning a lot about their game and the importance of custom fitting.

Pro's weekly tip...

Take your medicine...

This week’s tip is about playing from the rough. Getting a good strike from the rough can often be difficult as you will often find the ball lying poorly and faced with hitting through thicker grass.

Therefore, avoid taking a club that has little loft and begin to choose an iron with more loft. I see many golfers trying to hit woods from the rough regularly resulting in shots that are only advanced a few yards.

By taking an iron, you will advance the ball significantly further and as a result leave yourself a better chance of getting up and down and reducing your scores.

It's great to see

Golf is going through a great period at the moment with lots of people taking the chance to play. One thing you'll notice is the number of golfers using an electric trolley to carry their clubs around the course, so we thought we'd highlight a couple of our favourites in this week's email.
