Take less shots around the green...
This week’s tip is about shot selection around the greens. When you are faced with a shot that is on or just off the fringe of the green, consider using your putter more regularly.
Getting good contact with a chip can be difficult particularly when the ground is wet or you have a tight lie. Instead, use your putter to take the risk out of the shot. This is because a bad putt will always be closer to the hole than a bad chip that is duffed or thinned through the green.
Of course, there will still be times when a you will need to chip over rough or go over a bunker where a wedge would be more suitable. If you would like to improve your game around the greens then get in touch below and we can get you booked in for a lesson. |
