Pro's advice

Pro’s Weekly Tip

Now that the ground conditions are very soft, it is important to adapt your chipping to ensure the balls rolls out to the hole in a way that is predictable.

To achieve this, you should use a lower lofted club such as your 7 iron with the ball placed in the middle of your stance and avoid using higher lofted clubs unless absolutely necessary.

The lower trajectory will allow the ball to roll along the green rather than stopping instantly, leaving you more room for error when chipping from around the green.

Golf on Tour

A look ahead at what's to come...

2020 was a year like no other, both in golf and in the world as a whole. However, with 2021 now upon us, let’s take a look at some of the events for us golf fans to get excited about this year…

Firstly, The Masters returns to its April date, just five months on from Dustin Johnson’s record-breaking win back in November. This is followed by three more Majors in the men's game and five in the women's, including the one that got away in 2020: The Open Championship!

To top it all off, we have both the Ryder Cup and Solheim Cup in the same month - September. Let’s hope Team Europe are partying twice this September! Oh, and let's not forget about the Olympics!

Something to work towards

Come rain or shine, golfers never need an excuse to dust off the cobwebs and get onto the course. So, with lots of golf to (hopefully) look forward to in 2021, there's no better time to conjure up some golf-based resolutions for the year ahead.

Golfing from the get-go

We want to help you enjoy your golf as much as possible in 2021, as we do every other year for that matter. The more we enjoy the game, the more likely we are to dust off the clubs with regularity and take to the course.

Yes, playing great golf is a sure-fire way enjoying ourselves more but unfortunately it isn't that simple.

One big hurdle that we need to overcome - especially in the winter - is the weather. If it’s cold out there, you’ll want to invest in two things: a warm but lightweight mid-layer and a pair of mittens! Both of which can be worn when you're out for a leisurely walk anywhere.

When it comes to the rain, a waterproof golf jacket is essential that not only protects you from any downpours but allows you to swing the golf club without any restriction at the same time.

Enjoyment comes down to our preparation, both of our golf game and in our clothing/equipment. So, if there's anything you want or need, send us a message.
